Angie calls at exactly 8:30
to tell me the location
of the party

this happens about once a month
we get together
and hang out and
watch movies
usually in someone’s basement

It’s sort of a no-drinking,
just fun,
kind of party

to some kids in our school,
the ones that want to
get wasted every weekend,
we probably seem like a boring bunch
but we each have our reasons

we say that we are the proof that
not every teenager is the sort that
that does nothing but
drink and smoke and hook up and
hate their parents

just normal kids
being normal
in a town where
there is hardly anything else to do
